Sessions at Wild Hart Massage are structured, unhurried, and tailored to your needs that day. In cases of jaw or neck-associated tension, our work may include focused assessment and integrative approaches tailored to those patterns. We begin with a brief check-in to understand what’s going on in your body and what kind of support you’re looking for. Work may be tailored to address jaw and neck tension patterns when relevant to your needs.
Work is grounded in therapeutic massage principles and may incorporate techniques such as deep tissue, neuromuscular therapy, or integrative approaches — always guided by comfort, consent, and clinical reasoning rather than force.
The focus is on helping your nervous system settle, your tissues respond, and your body move toward greater ease.
There is no pressure to “push through” pain, and no expectation that you tolerate discomfort to get results.
Pricing is time-based rather than technique-based. This allows sessions to be responsive rather than prescriptive.

For jaw or multi-area tension, longer sessions are often more supportive.
Some clients come in specifically for jaw tension, TMJ-related discomfort, or patterns involving the head, neck, and nervous system. These concerns often show up as tightness, restriction, or holding that doesn’t fully resolve with general bodywork alone.
When appropriate, sessions may include focused jaw and neck work, as well as craniosacral techniques — a gentle, hands-on approach that supports regulation and ease within the nervous system. External jaw work is common, and intraoral techniques may be offered only when clinically relevant and with clear, informed consent.
Because jaw and craniosacral work can be both physically and emotionally sensitive, all sessions are trauma-aware, collaborative, and paced carefully. The focus is not forceful correction, but attentive listening and responsive touch, allowing patterns to shift gradually and safely over time.
Wild Hart Massage is grounded in trauma-aware practice. That means clear communication, respect for boundaries, and an understanding that every body carries its own history. Every session begins with a brief intake and movement conversation so your specific tension patterns — especially around the jaw, neck, and shoulders — are understood and addressed collaboratively.
You are always in control of your session. Pressure, positioning, and pacing are adjusted collaboratively, and you’re welcome to speak up or change direction at any point.
This is a professional, clinical-adjacent environment designed to feel calm, contained, and respectful.
Wild Hart Massage is a Portland-based therapeutic massage practice focused on thoughtful, ethical care.
Sessions are provided by licensed massage therapists with training in therapeutic and integrative bodywork, working within a scope that prioritizes safety, professionalism, and long-term client wellbeing.
This practice exists for people who want bodywork to feel grounded, intentional, and genuinely supportive — not transactional.
