Care & Access

How care is practiced, who this space is for, and how access is supported.

Care at Wild Hart Massage is grounded in respect, responsiveness, and clear communication. This page outlines how sessions are approached, who this practice aims to serve, and the structures in place to support access, safety, and professional boundaries.

How Care Is Practiced

Sessions are guided by collaboration rather than assumption. Care is shaped around consent, choice, pacing, and ongoing communication rather than a preset routine or expectation.

Clients are encouraged to share preferences, ask questions, and offer feedback at any point during a session. Techniques and pressure are adapted in real time based on physical feedback, nervous system response, and individual comfort.

There is no expectation to endure discomfort, explain personal history, or push beyond what feels appropriate in the moment.

Who This Space Is For

This practice welcomes clients of varied identities, bodies, backgrounds, and lived experiences. Sessions are intended to support people navigating stress, pain, injury, recovery, or periods of transition, as well as those seeking ongoing body awareness and care.

You do not need to arrive with a clear goal, a specific request, or prior experience with bodywork. Care is shaped through conversation and presence rather than performance or expectation.

Access & Sliding Scale Care

Care is offered with the understanding that financial access is not experienced equally. A limited number of sessions are available each month on a sliding scale for clients who would otherwise be unable to access care at standard rates.

This practice follows a “green bottle” approach: those who are able to pay standard rates help make space for those who need flexibility, without requiring explanation or justification. There is no application process, proof, or disclosure required.

If cost is a barrier, clients are invited to reach out directly to inquire about current availability. Sliding scale sessions are offered when capacity allows and may not always be available.

This system is intended to support access while maintaining sustainability for the practice and the people it serves.

Accessibility & Communication

Clear communication is considered part of the work. Intake conversations are designed to create space for relevant information, questions, and preferences without pressure or urgency.

The studio is located up a short flight of stairs and may not be accessible for all mobility needs. If access is a concern, clients are encouraged to reach out ahead of time to discuss options or determine whether the space is a good fit.

Modifications to positioning, pacing, pressure, and session structure are available and can be requested at any time.

Boundaries & Safety

Wild Hart Massage is a professional therapeutic practice. Clear boundaries help ensure that sessions remain safe, respectful, and supportive for both client and practitioner.

Inappropriate behavior or requests are not tolerated and will result in immediate termination of the session without refund. These boundaries exist to protect the integrity of care and the well-being of everyone involved.

Ongoing Practice

Care is not static. This practice continues to learn, adapt, and refine how care is offered over time. Feedback is welcomed, and conversations about access or experience can be shared directly.

The intention is not to present a perfect model of care, but to remain attentive, responsive, and accountable in practice.

Booking Insurance-Eligible Services

Some services require additional information or insurance eligibility and are therefore scheduled separately from standard in-studio sessions.

All other in-studio massage sessions are self-pay and are booked through standard scheduling.
