Booking & Scheduling

How do I book a session?

minusplus

All sessions are booked online through our scheduling system. You’ll choose a session length and, where applicable, a specific service type. If you’re unsure which option is best, you’re welcome to reach out before booking.

Can I book same-day or last-minute appointments?

minusplus

Occasionally, same-day availability opens up. The booking system reflects real-time availability, so checking there is the best way to see what’s currently open. You can always call or text 503-300-6383 to check today's availability.

What is your cancellation or rescheduling policy?

minusplus

We ask for at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule a session. Late cancellations or missed appointments may be charged the full session fee, as that time has been reserved specifically for you.

What happens if I arrive late?

minusplus

Sessions end at their scheduled time in order to respect both your practitioner and other clients. If you arrive late, your session may be shortened while the full fee still applies.

Is there a deposit required to book an In-Studio session?

minusplus

At this time, no deposit is required. Full payment is due at the time of the session.

Session Experience & Approach

What should I expect during my first session?

minusplus

Your first visit includes time to review your intake, discuss goals, and establish clear consent around pressure, focus areas, and boundaries. Sessions are unrushed and adapt to your body’s feedback throughout the work.

Do I choose a specific type of massage?

minusplus

Rather than selecting from a fixed menu, sessions are guided by your goals and how your body responds. Techniques may be integrated as appropriate and are always discussed beforehand.

How are techniques chosen during a session?

minusplus

Techniques are selected in real time based on your needs, comfort, and nervous system response. The work evolves as the session unfolds rather than following a preset routine.

What should I wear or bring?

minusplus

You may undress to your comfort level. Proper draping is used at all times. If you have preferences around clothing, modesty, or positioning, those can be accommodated—just let us know.

Will my session hurt or be uncomfortable?

minusplus

Massage should never be painful. Some areas with habitual tension may feel intense, but the pressure is always adjustable based on your feedback. If you ever want lighter or firmer pressure, just ask.

Is it normal to feel sore afterward?

minusplus

Some people feel mild soreness after focused work — similar to post-exercise sensations. This usually eases within a day, and gentle movement and hydration can help.

Consent, Safety & Professional Boundaries

How do you approach consent and communication?

minusplus

Consent is ongoing and collaborative. Pressure, pace, and areas of focus can be adjusted at any time. You are always welcome to speak up, and your boundaries are respected without question.

Is your practice trauma-aware?

minusplus

Yes. Sessions are approached with attention to pacing, choice, and nervous system regulation. You are never expected to push through discomfort or disclose anything you don’t wish to share.

What is your policy on inappropriate behavior?

minusplus

Wild Hart Massage is a professional therapeutic practice. Inappropriate behavior or requests are not tolerated and will result in immediate termination of the session without refund.

Can I request specific areas to be focused on or avoided?

minusplus

Yes — your preferences guide the work. If there are areas you want more attention on, or areas you prefer avoided, let your therapist know during intake or at any time during the session.

Pricing, Payment & Insurance

How does pricing work?

minusplus

Session rates are based on time rather than technique. This allows the work to be responsive and adaptable rather than constrained by a service menu. Current rates are listed on the Pricing page.

Do you offer sliding scale sessions?

minusplus

A limited number of sliding scale sessions are available each month to support access to care. This follows a green bottle approach and does not require applications or proof. Availability varies, and inquiries can be made directly.

When is payment due?

minusplus

Payment is due at the time of service unless otherwise arranged in advance for corporate or event-based bookings.

Do you accept insurance?

minusplus

Some insurance plans may be accepted with prior approval, and superbills are available upon request. Coverage varies by provider and plan, and reimbursement is not guaranteed.

What is a superbill?

minusplus

A superbill is a detailed receipt you can submit to your insurance provider for potential reimbursement. You pay the full session fee upfront, and your insurance company determines whether and how much they reimburse.

Where should I park or arrive when I get here?

minusplus

Parking is available on neighborhood streets near the studio. Arrive a few minutes early so you have time to settle in.

Location, Accessibility & Practical Details

Where are you located?

minusplus

In-studio sessions take place in Portland, Oregon. Full address details are provided after booking.

Is the studio accessible?

minusplus

The studio is located up a short flight of stairs and may not be accessible for all mobility needs. If you have questions about access, please reach out before booking.

How early should I arrive?

minusplus

Arriving a few minutes early allows time to settle in and begin your session without feeling rushed. There is no need to arrive excessively early.

Fit & Scope

Who is in-studio massage a good fit for?

minusplus

In-studio massage is well suited for clients seeking attentive, responsive therapeutic care in a calm, private setting—particularly those interested in nervous system support, injury recovery, or ongoing body awareness.

Is massage appropriate if I have an injury or medical condition?

minusplus

Massage may be supportive in many cases, but it’s important to share relevant medical history during intake. When necessary, clearance from a healthcare provider may be required.
