The Receiving Session

An unhurried, flowing session centered on receiving care and attention. Make room for what you enjoy, without feeling responsible for conversation or anyone else’s comfort.

About this session

A session devoted to attentive, nurturing care and the experience of being the person whose comfort matters. Its intended format centers on connected, oil-based strokes across the body, with room for still contact, lighter or more substantial touch, and changes in pace. That continuity works best without clothing, with draping chosen together. You decide what stays on; if you prefer to remain clothed or mostly clothed, we’ll adapt the approach, knowing that fully clothed care uses a different style of touch. There is room for silence, preferences, and changing needs without an expectation to entertain or look after the practitioner. The central experience is allowing care and attention to come toward you.

Options for your session

Ways to shape this session.

These are possibilities, not a preset. Choose clothing, draping, and every other preference on the day, based on your comfort. You can change your mind at any point; we’ll discuss how your choices shape the session.

Every session is gender affirming. Trans, nonbinary, and gender-expansive people are welcome with every practitioner. We respect your name, pronouns, and the language you use for your body; you decide what you want to share.

Clothing is what stays on your body; draping is how sheets or blankets provide coverage. Mostly clothed means keeping most clothing on while allowing access to a specific area. No clothing still includes the draping we agree on.

This session’s intended format uses continuous, oil-based strokes and works best without clothing. You decide what stays on. If you prefer to remain clothed or mostly clothed, we’ll adapt the approach together; fully clothed care uses a different style of touch.

Who this is for

  • They habitually take care of other people and find it unfamiliar to receive sustained attention themselves.
  • They want an enveloping, full-body massage that feels thoughtful and personally attentive.
  • They notice themselves making conversation or managing other people’s comfort even while receiving a service, and want room to rest from that role.

What we may explore

The qualities of touch you enjoy and what it is like to let your own comfort guide the session. There is room to notice preferences without also attending to the practitioner’s experience.

What the session may include

  • Connected, oil-based strokes, with pauses for still contact and changes in pressure or pace.
  • Full-body care shaped around what feels good to receive, with clear choices about clothing, draping, and areas included.
  • Silence and responsive changes as your preferences become clearer.

What to expect

Your comfort remains the focus. You can be quiet, ask for something different, or simply receive the work without an expectation to entertain or look after the practitioner.
