Pause botanical illustration for Quiet Stillness

A session shaped around the person, not a protocol.

Somatic & Integrative Bodywork

Quiet Stillness

Gentle, sustained touch with subtle movement and time to settle. A spacious session with minimal conversation, little or no lotion, and the option to remain clothed.

About this session

A gentle, spacious session built around sustained contact, subtle movements, and time to settle. Touch may remain in one place for an extended period, with less movement across the skin than in a conventional massage. Craniosacral-informed work and quiet holds can shape the experience, with little or no lotion and the option to remain clothed. The session makes room for people who want care that asks very little of them.

Options for your session

Ways to shape this session.

These are possibilities, not a preset. Choose clothing, draping, and every other preference on the day, based on your comfort. You can change your mind at any point; we’ll discuss how your choices shape the session.

Every session is gender affirming. Trans, nonbinary, and gender-expansive people are welcome with every practitioner. We respect your name, pronouns, and the language you use for your body; you decide what you want to share.

Clothing is what stays on your body; draping is how sheets or blankets provide coverage. Mostly clothed means keeping most clothing on while allowing access to a specific area. No clothing still includes the draping we agree on.

Who this is for

  • They arrive feeling overstimulated and want gentle contact, minimal conversation, and fewer things happening around them.
  • They are exhausted and the thought of vigorous massage or frequent position changes feels like too much.
  • They enjoy the subtle, almost energetic quality of sustained touch and prefer that experience to flowing massage.

What we may explore

What kind of still contact feels welcome, where you would like attention, and how much movement or conversation you prefer. There can be time to stay with one area instead of moving frequently between them.

What the session may include

  • Sustained contact and quiet holds.
  • Subtle movements and craniosacral-informed work.
  • Optional gentle rocking or supported movement, with stillness whenever you prefer.
  • Little or no lotion, with the option to receive work through clothing.

What to expect

The pace is spacious, with fewer changes in contact than a conventional flowing massage. You can let the practitioner know if you would like less conversation, less movement, or more time in one place.
