Somatic & Integrative Bodywork

Life in Transition

Bodywork during major changes in work, health, home, relationships, or family life. A place for familiar care, rest, and attention while daily life takes a different shape.

About this session

A flexible bodywork session for times when your roles, routines, or circumstances are changing. You might be changing careers, retiring, moving, becoming a parent, adjusting to a change in health, or navigating a relationship ending.

Change may be chosen or unexpected, welcome or difficult, or several things at once. You can receive familiar massage, focused care for muscle tension, or quieter contact according to how you arrive. There is no need to explain everything or decide what the change means.

Options for your session

Ways to shape this session.

These are possibilities, not a preset. Choose clothing, draping, and every other preference on the day, based on your comfort. You can change your mind at any point; we’ll discuss how your choices shape the session.

Every session is gender affirming. Trans, nonbinary, and gender-expansive people are welcome with every practitioner. We respect your name, pronouns, and the language you use for your body; you decide what you want to share.

Clothing
Clothed · Mostly clothed · No clothing
Draping

Oil / lotion
None · Light · Generous
Touch
Still · Flowing · Rhythmic · Focused
Conversation
Mostly quiet · Some conversation · Conversation welcome
Sound

Clothing is what stays on your body; draping is how sheets or blankets provide coverage. Mostly clothed means keeping most clothing on while allowing access to a specific area. No clothing still includes the draping we agree on.

Who this is for

  • You are changing work, entering retirement, moving, or adjusting to a different daily life.
  • A change in health, identity, parenthood, or family responsibilities is affecting how you move through the day.
  • You are navigating a breakup, divorce, or another relationship change.
  • You want a consistent appointment for your own care while circumstances are unsettled.

What we may explore

  • The kind of bodywork you want while daily life is changing.
  • Whether familiar massage, quiet rest, or focused attention for muscle tension feels useful.
  • How clothing, positioning, touch, and conversation can respond to how you feel today.

What the session may include

  • Familiar bodywork shaped around your preferences.
  • Space to rest or a responsive mix of touch.
  • Conversation when wanted and quiet when you would rather receive care silently.

What to expect

We begin with how you arrive and the care you would like to receive. You can talk about the transition or keep the session focused on massage. Mixed feelings and uncertainty are welcome; there is no expectation to frame change as either a crisis or a positive new beginning.
