Clinical & Therapeutic Bodywork

Head, Neck & Shoulder Care

Focused care for tension around the head, neck, shoulders, and upper back. Detailed bodywork and comfortable movement, shaped around the areas that need attention.

About this session

A focused session for the places that often carry the demands of work, concentration, caregiving, and everyday movement. We can spend time with the scalp, base of the head, neck, shoulders, and upper back, choosing the areas that feel most relevant to you.

Detailed muscle work can be combined with broader massage and comfortable movement. The work may be gentle or more substantial, with pressure and positioning chosen together. For detailed jaw or intraoral work, choose Targeted Jaw & TMJ Care.

Options for your session

Ways to shape this session.

These are possibilities, not a preset. Choose clothing, draping, and every other preference on the day, based on your comfort. You can change your mind at any point; we’ll discuss how your choices shape the session.

Every session is gender affirming. Trans, nonbinary, and gender-expansive people are welcome with every practitioner. We respect your name, pronouns, and the language you use for your body; you decide what you want to share.

Clothing is what stays on your body; draping is how sheets or blankets provide coverage. Mostly clothed means keeping most clothing on while allowing access to a specific area. No clothing still includes the draping we agree on.

Who this is for

  • Long hours at a desk or screen leave your neck and shoulders feeling tense or overworked.
  • You notice tightness around the scalp, base of the head, or upper back and want focused attention in those areas.
  • Work, exercise, driving, or caregiving leaves your shoulders stiff, and you want room for both detailed work and comfortable movement.

What we may explore

  • Where you notice tension and which activities or positions matter to you.
  • Whether to focus on one area or include the connections between the head, neck, shoulders, and upper back.
  • The pressure, pace, support, and movement that feel useful today.

What the session may include

  • Focused soft-tissue work around the neck, shoulders, and upper back.
  • Scalp and base-of-head work where welcome.
  • Comfortable assisted movement, with bolsters or side-lying positioning as needed.

What to expect

We begin with your main concern and agree on the areas to include. We can stay with one area or move among connected areas. You can ask for a change in pressure, position, or focus at any time.
