What Thai Massage Is

Traditional Thai massage is a Thai healing and bodywork tradition with diverse regional, temple, family, and contemporary lineages. Many forms use rhythmic compression, supported movement, and assisted stretching, often through clothing on a floor mat.

The approach is adapted to the person and context rather than applied as a fixed formula.

Safety & When to Pause

Assisted stretches and practitioner leverage require caution with acute injury, unstable joints, severe osteoporosis, pregnancy, recent surgery, joint replacement, impaired sensation, and cardiovascular concerns. Positions should never be forced.

When symptoms are new, severe, unexplained, or changing quickly, medical evaluation comes before massage.
